Synopsis.

L's origins are a mystery, but he's typically contacted through Watari, an equally mysterious man. L is a detective, taking on strange and bizarre cases around the world, depending, based solely on his whims. Very few people meet him in person, but he frequently works with local investigators he sees potential in.

Perhaps his most famous case is the Kira investigation, pursuing a supernatural killer who murdered criminals with only their names and their faces. Though the case stretched on for years, eventually Kira's killings ceased. As far as the public knew, L survived. Those who knew him well, however, knew it was only his legacy that lived.
