Synopsis.

Joe's mother is a sorcerer, who had trained his father, Slade, to be a sorcerer as well. However, Slade defected and became a curse user, operating as a mercenary for both those within sorcerer society and without it. After an injury from one of Slade's enemies made Joey mute, Adeline aggressively trained Joe to be able to fight and defend himself, as well as use his technique. Joe's technique allowed him to temporarily take over the bodies of others via eye contact, though it would leave his body behind and vulnerable. Adeline originally intended to train Joseph only at home, but after the Night Parade, Joe wanted to be able to help protect people from curses and curse users in a more official capacity and convinced his mother to let him go to Jujutsu High.
